Family: group of similiar people etc.

That was the definition I found in one of my dictionaries. If this is so, why do I feel so far apart from the rest of my family? Why do I feel alienated from the rest of them?

This is weird.

If we're similiar, why do I feel different? Why do I not feel close to anyone of my family except my brother anymore?

They say that if a family eats together they will stay together.

Our family eats together.

I don't think we would stay together.

Family.

Parents are supposed to look after their children, have you read the papers lately?

A family leaves their child in a childcare centre..nothing out of the ordinary, you say. Except that this is a 24 hour centre, meaning children can be left here for weeks, and even months. This family's reason was that they had to earn more money to support their children.

Somehow, I don't think that's right.

If you aren't ready to have a child, why did you have one in the first place? I don't think that that couple would make good parents. These days, all that matters is how much your parents earn, not the amount of love they give you, but the amount of toys.

Isn't that wrong?

A friend of mine is a materialistic person, who is always telling me the price of her clothing, bottles, birthday presents.

She brings enormous amounts of money out every single day. She calls $10 'little'.

Isn't there something wrong with her mindset?

I think there is.

It doesn't matter how much toys you give a child, or how much money they spend on their child.

Sure, materialistic things do help. Little things do help, but what the parents who are sending their children to 24 hour childcare centres don't seem to grasp is that fact that it is YOUR child, therefore you must look after it.

You don't just dump it into someone else's lap and wash your hands of him or her, do you?

I don't know, what do you think?
