What is Wicca?

If my parents saw this, they would probably send me to a counsellor.

According to what I've read, Wicca is a religion deeply bound in Nature.

There are, I think, two gods, the God and Goddess.

There are also animal guides, and spirit guides. Each animal has a different quality. The Eagle is wise, the Fox is good at hiding, the Wolf is loyal, stealthy, a good leader and so on.

There is also magick, but that plays a smaller role in Wicca.

From what I've read, its followers mainly concern themselves in learning about Nature, and the balances between what we do and Nature, as well as travel to the astral planes to look for their animal guides and occasionally do magick.

You're probably wondering why I'm even telling you this. The truth is, although in Singapore, I would be sent to a counsellor of some sort, I feel myself very much agreeing with the Wiccan virtues and ethics. But I can't tell anyone, as my parents would probably faint or send me someplace for 'rehabilitation', and my brother would tell me off for even thinking away from the mainstream religions, and also give me a long lecture on the same subject.

I don't know about my schoolmates either, I don't even know if they know what Wicca is.

I don't know where I read it from either, I just knew about it.

For those of you wondering if you should pick the phone up and call the police, and are conjuring up images of people sitting in circles, covered in lamb blood and praying to Satan, there isn't anything wrong with Wicca. It's a peaceful religion, like the Pagan religion, and it worships Nature.

The only thing different is that it is very much like the Norse gods etc, and the ideas just seem rather odd.

But don't condemn it, they don't worship Satan.

I'm not stupid enough to actually go read about and agree with a religion that bases its ethics on Satan, alright?

Just something to think about.
