Solitude.

Close your eyes and listen.

I love the night, it's so beautiful, sometimes--

I think the night is more colourful than the day...

Watch the sun die in glory, alone, on the balcony. That soft ball of flame. For once, there is--

Perfect harmony. No conflicting noises coming from within the household. Nothing. Just utter silence, broken only by the sound of the keyboard. Just profound silence...

For once, there is no voice by my ear, nagging me to do my work, for once, there is no ringing phone.

Almost as if everything was being held in balance, delicate balance, before a new day starts. Before the first car honks in impatience, and the first lights come on. For a few hours, in this busy world, there is--

Perfect unity. Everyone agrees, in this tiny area, to stay silent, to rest their voices. To save their arguments until dawn breaks.

Nothing but inky blackness in front of me, darkness broken only by the seemingly fragile streetlights as they peer through the cover of black. Cats lying in the streets, the drains, yawn, meow, and watch the silence through half-closed eyes. Not even a dog is barking. In the background, a cricket chirps, a bat makes a short, fast flight through the dark.

This is the time I love. This is the time I adore the most. The night. Without noise. I am allowed to think without anyone interrupting. I am given the freedom to do what I wish. I do not need to keep my muscles tensed for the slightest interruption, the slightest sound.

There is nothing to hear. Stars shine overhead, they brighten up the sky considerably, like little lamps leading the way out of darkness. The moon is out, and it too, is shining, like a large lighthouse, guiding lost souls back to where they belong....sometimes--

I am glad to be alone, and the night--the night is when I get the most inspiration. It is the best time of the day...and, tonight, I am glad of my loneliness.
